The founding era
Founder Donald R. Manning Sr., a Jersey City native and Korean War veteran, relocated to Pennsylvania with his wife, Muriel. Bringing a lifelong dedication to service and a commitment to exceptional eye care, Donald opened his first location in the Morrisville Shopping Center in Morrisville, Pennsylvania.

Levittown / Langhorne
Expanding the family legacy
To meet the growing need for quality optics, Donald R. Manning Jr. and his sister Carol opened the Levittown/Langhorne location at the intersection of Woodbourne Road and Route 1. Shortly afterward, Donald Sr. retired, passing the torch to Donald Jr. to lead the family business.

The birth of a flagship
We embraced the opportunity to expand into Logan Square in New Hope, Pennsylvania. From a modest beginning, this location has grown to become our premier flagship store.

Connecting communities
We expanded into the Newtown Shopping Center, next to Acme. Our mission remained clear: bringing premium, quality optics and an extensive selection of brand-name frames to the Newtown and Richboro communities.

Reaching new horizons
Word of mouth spread about our family-oriented service, precise lab fabrication, and wide selection. To serve even more families, we opened a beautiful new store in the Warwick Shopping Center in Jamison, Pennsylvania.

Today, our founding commitment lives on through a talented, dedicated team. Together with Donald Jr., his two sons Roger and Adam, his sister Carol, and a core group of coworkers, Design For Vision continues to set the standard for optical care in our area.
We proudly provide state-of-the-art optometric services, designer prescription glasses, and brand-name sunglasses to our neighbors in Doylestown, Warwick, Hatboro, Trenton, Bristol, Lambertville, and beyond.
